Designed from the start as a state-of-the-art product, the T696 Limited is a three-way 6" x 9" automotive loudspeaker that features 600 watts of peak power handling, edge-driven textile tweeters, and a uniquely designed aluminum frame. The T696 Limited is the ultimate outcome of JBL, Inc.’s years of leadership in the field of automotive sound.

New Design
- The new Limited version of the well-known T696 Special Edition comes with a black wrinkle-finish frame and matte-black tweeter faceplate and aluminum grille.

Proprietary Cast-Aluminum Frame
- Unlike conventional 6" x 9" speakers, the T696 Limited features an impressive cast-aluminum frame. It possesses enough strength to hold the oversized woofer motor. Furthermore, it dissipates more heat than cheaper, conventional stamped-steel frames.

Oversized 38mm Voice Coil
- Due to its large diameter, the voice coil of the T696 Limited dissipates more heat and thus increases continuous power handling significantly.

Oversized Speaker Terminals
- These screw-in terminals are short-circuit proof and guarantee high-quality connections by accepting bare speaker wires with a larger diameter.

Edge-Driven Midrange and Tweeter
- Unlike speakers with conventional balanced-dome tweeters, the T696 Limited uses better-quality edge-driven tweeters equipped with neodymium motors. These advanced drivers offer larger voice coil diameters and therefore handle more power.

Tweeter-Level Control
- The T696 Limited comes with a practical switch to reduce tweeter output level in order to match personal listening preference or different mounting locations. Even after installation, the push button can still be reached.

Tweeter-Protection Circuit
- The crossover network of the T696 Limited includes a PTC switch. It automatically lowers tweeter output level at extreme listening levels and thereby protects the tweeter from getting damaged.
